How to download media assets

For an enterprise server instance with subdomain isolation enabled, I have a need to download media.github.DOMAIN URLs from a script. This is to download images embedded in pull request bodies and comments. In the browser, when you view a PR, a querystring of the form ?token=... is appended to all such URLs. However, I've been unable to find an example on how to access those URLs from outside of an interactive browser session.

Do you already have a script you're using to download these URLs?

I have a larger script which uses the github REST API (via the pygithub package) to pull out PR data. My intent is to have that script look through the PR body and comment bodies, and also download any attachments. I've been using curl and smaller python scripts to experiment, but have had no success so far.
