Describe the problem

I think this IDE is trash. Why can't I copy and paste from the IDE serial monitor? https://forum.arduino.cc/t/copy-paste-data-from-the-serial-monitor/1041585

To reproduce

Download the arduino ide. Try to copy and paste a log trace that spans more than the visible window of the serial monitor. It only copies the text from the visible window area, the selector changes itself

Expected behavior

Well,, there are a ton of arduino libraries with errors, and to not be able to copy and paste from the serial monitor because of an IDE ERROR (!!!) is pretty much the most absurd thing in the history of software, besides a few others.
