Hello @MEmbeddedTLB. Please add a comment here on the pull request thread that provides a detailed explanation for why you wish to remove this library.
We do remove libraries on request, but I find it strange that you would want to remove https://github.com/MEmbeddedTLB/Devices
only a few days after you registered it (#6178). This makes me think that your true goal is not actually the permanent removal of the library, but instead that you plan to remove and then re-add the library in hopes that doing so will accomplish some other goal. That is not allowed and would not be productive anyway. We only allow removal requests when the intent is the permanent removal of the library.
The removal of https://github.com/MEmbeddedTLB/Device
makes more sense, as it seems that it is the same as the library in the MEmbeddedTLB/Devices
repository. However, please note that making a redundant submission and the requesting the removal of the previous registration is NOT the appropriate correct procedure to follow to change the URL and/or name of a registered library. Please always follow the standardized procedures defined in the documentation:
https://github.com/arduino/library-registry#arduino-library-manager-list
https://github.com/arduino/library-registry/blob/main/FAQ.md#arduino-library-manager-faq
Once I understand what your true goal is, I will be happy to assist with that.
Hello @per1234 , I sincerely apologize for the delayed response and confusion regarding this pull request. You're absolutely right, I have been inconsistent with my project naming, which was a mistake on my part. The reason I requested the removal of MEmbeddedTLB/Devices is that I realized the name was too generic for the Arduino Library Manager. After some reflection, I have decided on a more specific name that better represents the library's functionality. I deleted the original projects so that I could start fresh with the new name. I now understand this was not the correct procedure, and I apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. I would greatly appreciate your guidance on the proper way to register my library with its new name in the Arduino Library Manager. Thank you for your patience and assistance. |
Hi @MEmbeddedTLB. Just submit a name change request by following the procedure documented here: https://github.com/arduino/library-registry/blob/main/FAQ.md#how-can-i-change-a-librarys-name We have already initiated the process of removing the registration for the https://github.com/MEmbeddedTLB/Device repository (the "Device" library), so you should submit the name change request for the "Devices" library. In addition to the name change request, you will also need to take some additional actions:
The library name is defined exclusively by the value of the https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/creating-and-managing-repositories/renaming-a-repository If you do rename the repository, please submit a URL change request to keep your registration data current here: https://github.com/arduino/library-registry#changing-the-url-of-a-library-already-in-library-manager |
Thank you @per1234 for the guidance and clear instructions. |
