In hover type information, how can I avoid this?

How can I avoid such monstrosity without adding redundant imports? I'd like the IDE to show me only the last part of the typenames, especially in this case, where those types were actually imported from within another "internal" file in my own project.

Does importing the module cause the type to be shortened?

@bubba Here is a better example:

module Main where

import Data.Map.Strict (fromList)

main :: IO ()
main = do
    let a = fromList [("", "")]
    putStrLn "hello"

Hover over fromList and you will see the monstrosity fromList :: [([Char], [Char])] -> Data.Map.Internal.Map [Char] [Char].

After adding Map to the import list, hovering results in the more saner fromList :: [([Char], [Char])] -> Map [Char] [Char]. The problem is that now (with -Wall) it complains about a redundant import of Map.

Is it possible to get cleaner hover info without introducing redundant imports?

I presume GHC or whatever is fully qualifying the names of types since they are not imported, to avoid ambiguity. This is probably the right thing, but we could have a settings toggle to control this. Thoughts? @alanz @fendor
