Here's my first draft of a Nipype survey. The goal is to better understand our users and the broader community, to identify pain points and to learn about which new features people want in Nipype 2.0.

@miykael - looks great - perhaps we can ask about:

• packages/scripts people may have developed on top of nipype. almost like a registry of nipype derivatives.
• info on people (optional - name/email/[university/dept or company]/can we contact them directly)

@satra - I've added the question "Have you developed packages/scripts on top of Nipype that you would like to share with the community? Let us know what they do and how they can be accessed and we're happy to share them with the community."

And I've added an additional section to get user information (name/email/...)

I've updated the survey with the feedback from the roundtable at the sprint. New questions include...

• For how long are you using Nipype?
• What was your initial reason for starting with Nipype?
• What are in your opinion the killer features (positive) of Nipype?
• What are in your opinion the features that are still lacking the most?
• If you're not using Nipype, what is the reason for that? What could be changed to make it easier for you to start using Nipype?
• When you tried to convince others (or yourself) to use Nipype, what were the challenges? What was the main difficulty/critic why people didn't start using Nipype?
• Do you count yourself as an SPM/FSL/AFNI/FreeSurfer/ANTs/Other user?
• Which programming language do you frequently use for your work?
• Which channels are you using to keep yourself up to date on Nipype and to interact with the broader community? (Github, Gitter, Slack, Neurostars, Neuroimaging mailinglist). The idea here is to make participants aware of those channels.
• Would you be interested in Nipype training events? (Yes/No)
• What kind of training events should be offered? Local workshops (how long?), online courses, ...?
• Where do you work? (city & country)

Also, in the "About you" section, I'm asking "What is your current employment description in which you use Nipype?" With answers: undergraduate, graduate, PhD, Post doc, Professor, Research Staff, industry, Hobby, others. I'm not sure if this covers the American system. Please change if I'm missing something.

Additionally, the survey now links to this glossary describing/linking to the mentioned topics.

And finally, I've added a "Thank you" section (last). Would be great if somebody could quickly prove read this.
