Converting transformation matrices between packages (SPM and NiftyReg/FSL)

I've been struggling to convert a transformation matrix from SPM to NiftyReg. I believe (although have yet to test) that FSL and NiftyReg use the same conventions, so would be equally happy with SPM->FSL.

Is this something that nipype is capable of doing? I read on a mailing list that this was the case, but looking through the documentation, I can't see where.

I'm working precisely on that here - nipy/nibabel#656 please feel free to chime in and reactivate that work.
