Description
Code Sample, a copy-pastable example if possible
df = pd.DataFrame({"a": [1, 2, 3], "b":[4, 5, 6]})
df.style.bar(["a", "b", "c"])
Problem description
This issue occurs when passing a list of columns to bar()
where one (or more) of the columns is not present in the dataframe. It will give a KeyError
:
KeyError: 'Passing list-likes to .loc or [] with any missing labels is no longer supported, see https://pandas.pydata.org/pandas-docs/stable/user_guide/indexing.html#deprecate-loc-reindex-listlike'
Expected Output
This error does not describe the problem. I would expect one of two possible outcomes:
- An error message, which informs not to pass column names to
bar()
that are not present. - Fixing
_apply()
inio/formats/style.py
to deal with missing labels.
I would prefer option 2, but I can image that woudl not be the preferred behavior of pandas :-).
