Reproducible Example

df = pd.DataFrame({'a': [1, 2], 'b': [3, 4]})
view = df[:]
df.loc[:, 'b'] = df['b']+1
print(df)
print(view)

df = pd.DataFrame({'a': [1, 2], 'b': [3, 4]})
view = df[:]
df.loc[:, 'b'] = df[['b']]+1
print(df)
print(view)

Issue Description

The above shows

   a  b
0  1  4
1  2  5
   a  b
0  1  3
1  2  4
   a  b
0  1  4
1  2  5
   a  b
0  1  4
1  2  5

Expected Behavior

   a  b
0  1  4
1  2  5
   a  b
0  1  4
1  2  5
   a  b
0  1  4
1  2  5
   a  b
0  1  4
1  2  5
