It's necessary to use SET PASSWORD for the [email protected] and root@::1 accounts, the command issued via mysqladmin will not work for these according to http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql-security-excerpt/5.5/en/default-privileges.html

After further testing, this is causing unexpected issues related to db privileges, when it really shouldn't. Very weird issue, i'm closing the pull request. |
