There are a couple of closed issues asking about horizontal scaling:
... and I had the same questions. @rosa kindly mentioned that they are planning to write a blog post detailing some setup, monitoring, and alerts suggestions. In the meantime, I thought it would be nice to mention some basics in the README, which is what this PR does.
