build issues on mountain lion / homebrew

While building rust 0.3.1 I came across some build issues. clang from XCode 4.4.

There's a Homebrew formula for Rust now? Do tell!

I know @fsouza was able to build Rust on Mountain Lion -- see #3049 -- so if you can reach him, maybe you could compare notes...

I didn't use homebrew, and managed to compile on mountain lion successfully.

However, when using homebrew, I get the same error as you, so it seems like an issue with homebrew environment/formula.

I've applied #3049's patch, and managed to build rust on ML with Homebrew.

@erikh: could you try the changes in Homebrew/legacy-homebrew#14457?
