Should we create a rust-lang organization on GitHub? #9343

At the moment rust and servo are the only rust-related projects under the mozilla organization, but there are potentially many more to come:

  • rust-www, rust-admin (private) and rust-buildbot (private) are all currently owned by graydon and need to be transferred somewhere neutral.
  • Make an example rustpkg repository under github.com/rust-lang #9340 wants to open a demonstration rustpkg repo
  • once we create the package incubator there will need to be a place to put packages thate are officially maintained by the rust core team.

Because we have the potential to create a lot of repos, and our general tendency to distance the rust project from the mozilla project, my inclination is to create our own organization. "rust-lang" is already reserved for this purpose if we want it.

Servo has it's own organization at http://github.com/mozilla-servo.

Even if this is desirable we may want to hold off until we're ready to start the package incubator.
