Would it be possible to put the purely-doc adjustments from this, #9511 and #9512 into one PR? (They can stay as separate commits.)

I expected someone to say this. :) I've changed the code via GitHub, so right now i can not do this.
Also i got burned in rebaseland pretty badly in the past, so i am scared to touch many files in one PR.

Ok, that's fine; I'm happy to cherrypick the 3 (or more) commits together into one branch (you still get authorship) after you've finished.
