Scoverage fails on annotation ascription.

When trying to use scoverage with silencer plugin enabled, the compiler throws the error scala.reflect.internal.Positions$ValidateException: Unpositioned tree.

Usage of silencer plugin is irrelevant here - the crash also happens when it's disabled.

Yes, I should have been more clear. Its usage of this particular 'annotation ascription' construct that seems to cause the issue.

More specifically, this only happens when the ascribed expression is not assigned to a value.
